The Samsung UN55B8500 55 inch LED LCD HDTV is one of the latest additions to the Samsung LED television family. It is an ultraslim backlit 1080p 240 Hz LED HDTV, and is the flag ship of the LED TVs from Samsung. It is one of the best flat screen TVs I have ever seen. This LED TV definitely has some benefits that a person won't see on other flat screen TVs. In addition to the regular advantages of a LED backlit TV, including darker black colors, sharper images, and energy saving features, this TV has many extra features and functions. There are so many features and functions on this television that are really great that we're just going to talk about a few that really makes it a stand-out. This backlit LED TV has a full array of local dimming LEDs behind the screen, which has advantages from the edge lit LED TVs. The results of these local dimming backlights are fabulous and this television is one of the few that have it. With this LED backlit technology you don't have to worry about straining your eyes when watching a movie in a dark room. The great thing about the Samsung 8500 models is that even though they are backlit LED TVs, it still manage to be very slim. The TV also stays much cooler than most other flat screen TVs. The UN55B8500 LED TV has a beautiful frame with soft corners and the entire frame covered by a clear transparent crystal that really gives the LED TV experience a wonderful effect. It can add an extra level of protection to the corners of the TV. There are two remote controls. This is very cool for people like myself, who have a tendency to get their remotes confused. The standard remote control is used for any adjustment and features. The nice thing about this remote is that it has RF capability whic allows it to work without you having to aim it at the TV. There is a really cool looking second remote which is a very small piece of art which you can use to control some of the functions. It's got a red touch screen top and fits in the palm of your hand. I know this is short, but here is the last really cool feature that I like. It's got this widget gallery. Once the Samsung UN55B8500 LED TV is hooked up to your internet connection you can add Twitter, You Tube, Yahoo, News, and a lot of other cool stuff on your television. They can be set or updated manually, automatically, or on demand and are very easy to access. They even have a Blockbuster widget that lets you see movies through the internet instead of waiting for them to reach your cable company. If you are looking to buy a 55 incl LED TV and can afford it, I would definitely look at the UN55B8500 55 inch LED HDTV from Samsung.
