Feeding your baby at bedtime will enable them to feel the comfort of having you there. After feeding then it’s time to read your baby a book, they will love to hear your voice and they will become much more peaceful when reading to them at bedtime. Make sure you initiate this from early on, rather than leave it till they respond more; I believe that reading a book at bedtime will affect the peacefulness of your child.
If the baby sleeps any more than three hours at a time during the day, wake him. Babies should nap during the day, of course, but no more than three hours. To wake the baby, try holding him upright and tickle his feet. If that will not work, take off his shirt and the chill will wake him. Don’t leave him uncovered for long, once he is awake, sing or talk to him to keep him that way for a while. This is a good time to put him on a mat for some tummy time if he’s not hungry.
The key to getting a baby to sleep is by consistently keeping bedtime rituals. A baby should not be rocked to sleep one night while being left to cry themselves to sleep the next night. A consistent routine is the most important key to having your baby form a healthy sleeping pattern.
